Fethiye – Göcek (7 days)
Fethiye is only 50 km from Dalaman Airport. If you want to spend your holiday in Fethiye and Göcek region with your charter boat, your starting point might be Fethiye, or you can start this unique holiday more quickly from Göcek, which is 20 minutes away from Dalaman Airport. At the end of the holiday, you can deliver the yacht to Göcek and reach Dalaman Airport in a short time.
Fethiye: It is a sea city with a sheltered harbor and all kinds of possibilities. In addition to the marina with a capacity of 400 boats, there are several hotels with piers and a marina run by the municipality. It is only 50 km from Dalaman Airport. The distance between Fethiye and Göcek is 12 miles.
Göcek: There are six big marinas in the town, which are important for international yachting. The most important feature of the town is that it has islands and coves, which are located in a very sheltered and wide gulf. Göcek is 20 minutes away from Dalaman Airport. You can start your sailing charter tour from Göcek.
Yassıca Island: These islands, called Yassıcalar, do not even have individual names. They are such tiny islands that no one has bothered to name them. All of them are called Yassıcalar. There are no facilities on the islands. A tiny pool is formed at the tip of the sandy promontory of the larger one, which extends to the sea. It’s like it was made specifically for little babies. Here, you can have a swimming adventure between the islands with no fear. The shortest break is 12 meters between the two islands. If you can swim for half an hour, you can tour the four islands. If you wish, you can go to the islands and walk. Just don’t forget to bring sports shoes with you. You can anchor your boat to buoys and eyebolts.
Göcek Island: It is the biggest factor in Göcek’s being a natural harbor. Since it is located right at the entrance of Göcek, it protects Göcek to a great extent from the South-eastern. There are many large and small beaches on this island. The most visited by yachtsmen are the western bay on the west and the İncirli bay on the east. It is attached to the buoy and the eyebolts on land.
Boynuzbükü: The restaurant with electricity and water has a vaulted pier for 25 boats. In the deep bay, the depth is between 10-20 meters. In the northwest, the depth is more suitable for anchoring. It is a very suitable bay for accommodation.
Taşkaya (Bedri Rahmi Bay): It is famous for its fish painting on stone by painter Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu who started the first blue voyage in Göcek Bays. The kite mosaic by Azra Erhat is also located here. There are many sheltered places inside. Zeytin Restaurant, which was opened in the summer of 2016, is open for 12 months. The restaurant has electricity and water.
Sarsala Bay: You can anchor at 10-15 meters in front of the beach and stay in the sea, or have a shelter in the southern alcove. You can anchor at 15-20m and stay overnight. In the small Sarsala Bay, there is a nice restaurant with a pier capacity of 30 boats. It is located closer to Dalaman Airport than Göcek by road. Therefore, cabs wait on the shore. It is possible to transfer from this bay to the airport by taxi.
Tersane Island (Tersane Bay): The entrance of the bay is not visible far away and it is reached through a narrow channel. It is a sheltered bay. On the waterfront are historical ruins and a restaurant. The bay is indented in the southwest and shallow in the east. The shallow points starting in the middle of the bay end in the ruins of the old historical shipyard in the east. It is one of the most special bays among the Gocek bays. It is a bit busy between 10:30-16:00, which is the frequent time of excursion boats in summer. It is the largest of the islands in the Gulf. The remains of the old Greek settlement, which was emptied after the population exchange, are located on the island. You will see the remains of a shipyard and watchtower after which the island is named.
The two bays that sailors call summer and winter bays are frequented by blue cruise and day trip boats. The winter bay, which you come across after passing through a narrow strait, is one of the spots where many yachtsmen take shelter in order to be protected from the sudden winds. The entrance is very narrow, it is a beautiful bay that can accommodate few boats. The north shore and the southwest shore corner of its mouth are suitable for being land from the stern. The eastern and northeastern parts are dangerous due to rocks and submerged walls. The bottom is mossy slime.
Hamam Bay: The bay where blue cruise and daily boat tours drop by in any case. A suitable place for overnight stay. Right next to the pier, you will see the remains of a Byzantine monastery, some of which were submerged. You can get off the boat and take a pleasant walk along the shore and in the forest. If you are confident, you can go to the ancient city of Lydae with a half-hour walk from Cleopatra Bath Bay to the hill. There are gazebo restaurants serving yachts on the shore. You can anchor at 20-30m and anchor by the stern.
Göbün Bay: It is a long bay in the south of Domuz Island, with a very narrow entrance, surrounded by pine and olive trees. Those who come ashore at the end of the bay will encounter rock tombs and ancient ruins. It is a very sheltered cove. The depth is between 5-7 meters, the western side is completely shallow. There is a vaulted pier in front of the restaurant.
Fethiye/Ölüdeniz
Turunçpınarı Bay: One of the most beautiful swimming spots in Fethiye Bay. It takes its name from the fresh water spring, which is located on the summit, approximately 400 meters above sea level, covered with citrus trees. The restaurant serves delicious food such as fisherman’s kebab, fish in salt, tandoori lamb with honey and they also grow vegetables and fruits in the garden right behind the restaurant and bring them to your table.
Gemiler Island: A magnificent region with ruins from the Lycian and Byzantine periods. Especially in summer, between 10.30-17.30, it is crowded with food selling boats, water sports etc. You can reach the historical Afkule church ruin by walking 15-20 minutes from the shore. From this high location, you can watch the magnificent view of Fethiye Bay and the sunset.
Cold Water Harbor: It is a deep bay on the Ölüdeniz side with a fresh water source. It’s small and cosy, but gets very busy in the summer. There is a path from the shore that you can walk to Kayaköy. It may not be sheltered when it blows from the south.
Butterfly Valley: It is a natural treasure located within the borders of Ölüdeniz neighbourhood of Fethiye district. Butterfly Valley, located at the foot of Babadağ, one of the 100 mountains recommended to be protected as a world heritage due to its endemic species, was declared a 1st degree natural site on February 8, 1995 and closed to all kinds of construction.
